As we close out 2021 and look ahead to 2022, you might notice we’ve added a few new faces here at The Parish Group. One of them you’ll be hearing a lot from. Meet Julia Watson, our new Social Media Manager.

Why Social Media?

Since the start of the pandemic, it’s become very clear that multimodal communication is key to staying in touch and involved. That’s why we felt it important to have an active, consistent voice on our channels.  Julia will be responsible for creating and posting content that shows the heart of The Parish Group.  As well, she will research and write articles for TPG’s website that investigate current issues and topics within higher education and higher education marketing.

“I want our content to have a sense of humanity”

“Besides staying consistent on social media, I want our content to have a sense of humanity. Too often I see companies “selling” themselves online, rather than just letting their story shine for itself. We’re doing important work for the higher ed community, and we have some really cool people behind it all.”

Julia will be focused on showcasing the success stories of our partner schools, promoting industry trends, and giving insights of new and innovative enrollment strategies within the higher education marketing community.

Julia’s Background

Julia earned her BA from Florida State University and her MFA from North Carolina State University. She formerly worked as a marketing assistant at a digital media company writing social media and ad copy. Outside of work, she’s heavily involved in the literary community. She’s the Writer Liaison for the children’s literary magazine Ember: a Journal of Luminous Things and a Poetry Editor at Chaotic Merge. A writer herself, she’s currently working on her first book of poetry.

Welcome aboard, Julia!
