Join us as we get to know more about Malyn and her role at The Parish Group
What is your role and scope of responsibilities at TPG?
In my role as Senior Director of Slate Support, I help institutions optimize their use of Slate by troubleshooting, implementing best practices, and designing processes that make the platform more effective and user-friendly. If it has to do with Slate, I’ll probably be doing it.
Tell us more about your industry background!
Prior to joining The Parish Group, I worked on the institution side at schools of various sizes, gaining experience in both admissions and IT. I first began working in Slate as a student worker and quickly discovered my passion for building efficient, dynamic, and scalable processes. Having served on both the front-end admissions side and the back-end technical side, I bring a holistic perspective that helps me design solutions empowering end users to leverage technology and streamline complexity.
What are some of your goals for your position at The Parish Group?
At TPG, I want to keep growing my expertise in Slate and stay on the cutting edge of the platform. I also aim to strengthen connections within the broader Slate community and help users feel confident and supported in their work within Slate. By focusing on knowledge sharing, practical solutions, and process improvements, I hope to make the platform more accessible and impactful for everyone I work with.
What institution do you call your alma mater?
Texas Christian University – Go Frogs!
Enough work stuff – what do you like doing in your free time?
When I’m not at work, you can usually find me hanging out with my daughter and dogs, getting way too invested in reality TV, or on a never-ending quest to find the best sushi in town.
Last question, we promise. What does higher education mean to you?
To me, higher education is a transformative journey that gives people the chance to discover their passions, grow through challenges, and make meaningful contributions to the world. It’s about learning, building connections, and becoming the person you’re meant to be.
