How TPG Transformed Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Publication Strategy to Enhance Student Engagement and Enrollment.

Lenoir-Rhyne University is a private, Lutheran University in Hickory, North Carolina with a total undergraduate population of 1,579 students as of 2024.

Reason for partnership

Lenoir-Rhyne University sought to increase their publication assets to familiarize prospective students and their parents with the multifacetedness of the institution. Additionally, they wanted more personalized touchpoints of  communication with students post-application to encourage deposits.

TPG’s Approach

Starting with intensive research into the institution including interviews with current students, alumni, and college deans, The Parish Group created two suites of publications for Lenoir-Rhyne. The first included seven brochures to be sent to inquiries and their parent influencers.

The second suite featured brochures for each of the university’s six colleges of study. Every brochure included a custom letter, written in the voice of each college’s dean, and envelope to be sent to applicants whose indicated major matched with that specific college.

Outcomes

TPG’s partnership aided LR’s pursuit of a larger and more personalized pool of publication assets.

The creation of these brochure suites lead to a five fold increase in LR’s total publication assets for students across all levels of the enrollment funnel.
