October is here! What a busy autumn it’s already been.
Following the excitement of NACAC, we’re kicking off our month highlighting one of our creative powerhouses, Andraya Avery.
What is your role at The Parish Group?
I am the Senior Graphic Designer, Lead Web Designer, Licensed Drone Pilot, and Digital Communications Specialist for The Parish Group.
When did you start working with The Parish Group?
I started working with The Parish Group in 2013 as a graphic designer.
As time went on, I used my ability to learn quickly to my advantage and was able to add all the other specialties you see above.
My main goal is to help our client-partners in any way possible and that means learning lots of new, innovative skills along the way!
What’s your favorite memory at The Parish Group?
My favorite memory would have to be when we went on a couple of team building activities in Asheville!
One of those activities was doing an escape room (which we escaped, of course) and the other was a walking tour of Asheville’s breweries.
What has been your favorite project you’ve worked on at The Parish Group?
So far, the interactive game board we developed for Campbell University. It was a unique concept! I built it from scratch and it was a fun challenge to bring into reality.
Close second: teaching myself to fly the drone.
What would we most likely find you doing outside of work?
Playing video games, drawing, binge watching, practicing my special fx makeup, or learning something new.
What does higher education mean to you?
A chance to tell a story and give institutions the voice and visual representation they deserve.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without my degree as well.
