Welcome to the team, Amanda! Let us know more about your role and responsibilities.
I handle digital design across web, social media, email marketing, presentations, and proposals. I also create motion graphics and edit video content.
What did you do prior to joining The Parish Group?
Before The Parish Group, I was a UI/UX and Digital Marketing Designer at Big Red Dog Marketing. There, I designed websites, created digital and print marketing materials, worked on accessible user experiences, and collaborated with developers and the marketing team.
I also have experience in branding, animation, videography, and data visualization, and have had the opportunity to design for organizations like Red Hat and Alamance County Parks & Recreation.
What are some of your goals for your position at The Parish Group?
I’m excited to keep growing as a designer, learn from my team, and share my own creative ideas. I enjoy the challenge of making designs that are both eye-catching and easy to use. I’m also looking forward to helping develop The Parish Group’s brand and bring our creative visions to life.
Where did you go to college?
I earned my bachelor’s degree in New Media and Traditional Art from UNC Asheville and my master’s degree in Graphic and Experience Design from NC State University.
What are you involved in/do outside of work? What are your interests?
Outside of work, I am a beginner walk/runner, and I love a well-designed escape room. In my spare time, I also enjoy creating my own costumes and props, usually taking on personal projects that are a little more ambitious than I initially planned.
What does higher education mean to you?
As someone who has experienced both undergraduate and graduate school, higher education means a lot to me. I see it as an opportunity for people to discover new interests, challenge their perspectives, and explore what they’re capable of.
